Set the account as private
As I already mentioned at the beginning, the only way to do not show "likes" on Instagram è set your account as private: in this way only approved followers will be able to view the posts, likes and comments you release within the platform.
Keep in mind, however, that as I already mentioned at the beginning, while activating the setting that allows you to make your Instagram profile private, the likes you put on public posts will still be visible to all users and it will also be possible to view yours. username under the post.
If everything is clear to you, continue reading the next paragraphs containing the instructions necessary to set your account as private. Then grab your Android or iOS device and follow the instructions below.
Please note: setting a profile as private is not retroactive. This means that the account's current followers are automatically authorized to access it and therefore continue to view its contents, including likes. To prevent the display of the "Like" to a follower already active on a profile made private, you must block the latter (I will tell you more about this procedure later).
Android
To set your account as private on Android, start the official Instagram app on your device, log in using your credentials (if necessary) and press thelittle man located at the bottom right. In the screen that opens, tap on the ☰ symbol located at the top and access the Settings of Instagram, pressing on the appropriate item that appears on the side. Now, scroll through the screen you see and locate the submenu Privacy containing the option to make your account private.
Then move up ON the switch lever located next to the item Private account and your account will be made private. If in the future you want to make your profile public again, all you have to do is go to Settings> Privacy I will post your OFF the switch located in correspondence with the item Private account.
iOS
The procedure to follow on iOS to set an Instagram account as private it is almost identical to the one seen previously for Android: you must first start the official Instagram app on your iPhone, log in to your account and tap thelittle man located at the bottom right.
After carrying out the aforementioned steps, presses on the symbol ☰ located at the top right, access the screen Settings (by selecting the appropriate item from the menu that appears on the side), go to Privacy and, finally, move up ON the lever of the switch located in correspondence with the wording Private account (it is found under the heading Account privacy). Congratulations, you just managed to set your profile private!
If one day you decide to make your profile public again, you will have to go back to Settings> Privacy I will post your OFF the switch located next to the item Private account to restore the "original" settings of Instagram.
computer
If you intend to act from computerinstead, the steps to take are a little different than those listed in the previous lines due to the differences between the mobile interface and the desktop one. But even in this case it is a very simple procedure.
First, access Instagram from its web version or from its application for Windows 10, click on thumbnail of your profile photo (top right), click the entry Settings in the menu that opened and then click on the wording Privacy and security located on the left.
Finally, check the box next to the item Private account and, if requested, confirm your intentions by responding to the warning that appears on the screen. To return to having a public account, simply go to the section in question and remove the check from the relevant box regarding the activation / deactivation of the private account.
Block a follower to prevent them from seeing "likes"
Do you want to prevent the display of “likes” for a follower who followed you before you made your profile private? If so, you can block the user in question through the specific function integrated on Instagram. Don't worry, the user will not receive any notification of the block; it will simply no longer be able to find your profile, your posts or your story on Instagram, nor view your “likes” (unless you like posts shared by public accounts or by people followed by the blocked user). The procedure can be done easily from both the official Instagram mobile app and its web or desktop version.
Android
To block a user on Android, first start the Instagram app on your device, log in to your account (if you have not already done so) and locate the user you want to block. Pigia then on name of the latter (in order to view its profile), tap on the symbol (⋮) located at the top right and, in the menu that appears, tap on the item Block. You will be asked to confirm the operation: then presses on the item Block [username] and any new accounts he may create and finally, tap on the button Block.
If you have performed the procedure I have just described correctly, you will see a message confirming that you have blocked the selected user. I remind you that, despite having blocked the user, he will continue to see your “likes” and the comments you leave on posts shared by public accounts or by the account that follows.
Ah… I almost forgot! You can unblock a user at any time: to do this, go back to his profile, press the button (⋮) and, in the menu that appears, first select the option Unlock (twice) and then OK.
iOS
You want to block a user from the official Instagram app for devices iOS? In this case, start the latter on your device, log in to your Instagram account (if necessary) and locate the user you want to block to prevent him from seeing your "likes".
Now, press on follower name you want to block to view its Profile and, in the screen that appears, presses on the symbol (...) located at the top right. In the menu that appears below, tap on the item Block and, after checking the box Block [username] and any new accounts he may create, confirm by pressing the button Block.
If everything went well, you will see a message confirming that you have blocked the user in question and you will be given instructions to unblock him, if necessary, at a later time. Of course, despite having blocked a user, they will still be able to continue to see your likes and comments on posts shared by public accounts or by the following account. Understood?
If one day you decide to unblock a user you have blocked, go back to his profile again, press the button (...) and, in the menu that appears, tap the button Unlock.
computer
You don't have your Android or iOS device with you at the moment and want to act as a PC? No problem, you can do this using the web or desktop version of Instagram.
Therefore, access Instagram from its web version or from its application for Windows 10, search for the user to be blocked via the Campo di Ricerca placed at the top and, once on his profile, click on the symbol (...) which is located in correspondence with the item Follow and click on the button Block this user to complete the procedure. Confirm, therefore, by clicking on the button Block And that's it.
Also in this case, the blocked user will be able to see your likes and comments on posts shared by public accounts or by the account that follows. Of course, if you have second thoughts, you can unblock the user at any time: to do this, go back to his profile, click on the button Unlock and then confirm it by replying Unlock to the box that appears on the screen.
How not to see like number on Instagram
If, on the other hand, you are going to do not see the number of likes on Instagram, as you are not interested in knowing how many users have “liked” the posts of others, all you have to do is activate a special setting of the photographic social network, available only from the mobile app.
First, log in to Instagram from its Android / iOS app, tap on thelittle man or thumbnail of your profile photo (bottom right) and tap on the icon ☰ (top right). Next, go to Settings> Privacy> Post and finally move up ON the switch located in correspondence with the item Hide the number of likes and views.
To restore the display of likes and views, just go to the section of the Instagram app that I have just indicated and then move to OFF the appropriate switch.
